Annual Hockey Coaches Conference Announces Speakers Line-up
VANCOUVER, May 15, 2012 - The Coaches
Site is pleased to announce its lineup of keynote speakers for the second
annual Hockey Coaches Conference. Speakers include some of today’s most
recognizable names and forward-thinking minds in hockey coaching.
Confirmed to appear at the 2012 Hockey
Coaches Conference is Vancouver Giants head coach, Don Hay; former NHL head
coach and general manager, Mike Keenan; Nashville Predators associate coach,
Brent Peterson; St. Louis Blues head coach, Ken Hitchcock; head coach of the
Abbotsford Heat, Troy Ward; and assistant coach of the Minnesota Wild, Darryl
Sydor.
In addition to this year’s keynote
speakers, The Coaches Site will welcome several other sports professionals
including recently appointed head coach of Penn State’s men’s hockey team, Guy
Gadowsky. Also joining the line-up is innovative chiropractor Dr. Stefan
Sigalet who will share his expertise on dealing with and healing the effects of
concussions.
“We have quickly become the largest
coaching conference in western Canada and I think the quality of our guest
speakers really reflects that,” says conference organizer and The Coaches Site
managing director, Aaron Wilbur. “We are really excited to connect these star
coaches and hockey professionals with emerging and grassroots coaches in
Canada, and to ultimately improve the game for young players in this country.”
The two-day conference will be held at
the Delta Hotel and Conference Centre in Burnaby, BC on July 20-21, 2012. The
event focuses on coaching strategies, conditioning and skill development in an
interactive environment. The format will consist of presentations, workshops
and breakout sessions.
